Types of Amarnath Pilgrimage Registration & RFID Card

There are two main types of registration for the Amarnath Pilgrimage:

Amarnath Pilgrimage Online Registration:

This is the most convenient way to register for the pilgrimage. Here’s the process:

  • Ensure you have a clear image of yourself (JPG/JPEG format, max 1MB).
  • Medical Fitness Certificate: Must be signed and stamped by Amarnath Shrine Board-approved doctors (PDF format, max 1MB). If you don’t have the certificate format, it is available for download.
  • The age limit for pilgrims is 13 to 70 years. Pregnant women over 6 months are not allowed.
  • Original ID proof and the Medical Certificate are required during registration.
  • Registration Fee: Rs 150
  • One mobile number can be used for registering up to four pilgrims.

Amarnath Pilgrimage Offline Registration:

For years prior to 2022, only offline registration was allowed due to concerns over fraudulent registrations. Here are the types of offline registrations:

Bank Registration:

Visit an authorized bank such as Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Yes Bank, SBI, or PNB. You will need to submit your medical certificate, ID proof, and photographs. Registration Fee: Rs 150.

Group Registration:

Groups of up to 50 pilgrims can register together. You must prepare a Demand Draft (DD) for the registration fee and send the documents to the Shrine Board by May 31. Group Registration Fee: Rs 220 per person.

NRI Registration: NRIs can register by submitting a medical certificate from a recognized hospital in their country, along with scanned photographs. Registration Fee: Rs 1550.

On Spot Registration: This option is available at Jammu and Srinagar but is not recommended due to limited availability. Registration Fee: Rs 150 for Indian pilgrims and Rs 1550 for NRIs. Availability may be subject to certain conditions, and it’s best to plan ahead for a guaranteed spot.
