Amarnath Pilgrimage Medical Procedure for Indians

The Amarnath pilgrimage is a popular Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The shrine is located at an altitude of 14,500 feet (4,400 m) in the Himalayas. The pilgrimage is a challenging one, and pilgrims must be in good health to undertake it.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has issued guidelines for pilgrims on how to obtain a medical certificate for the Amarnath pilgrimage. The guidelines are as follows:

    1. Download the Amarnath Pilgrimage Medical Form or CHC Format. The form can be downloaded from the our website from tools section in main menu. The form changes every year, so be sure to download the form for the year of your pilgrimage.
    2. Find an approved Amarnath Pilgrimage doctor. We have uploaded a list of approved doctors who can issue medical certificates for the Amarnath pilgrimage. You can find the list of approved doctors on the ourwebsite under tools approved doctors.
    3. Get a medical checkup. The doctor will perform a medical checkup to determine if you are fit to undertake the Amarnath pilgrimage. The doctor may ask you questions about your medical history and may perform a physical examination.
    4. Have the doctor fill out the medical form. The doctor will fill out the medical form and sign it. Be sure to have the doctor stamp the form as well.

Here are some additional tips for pilgrims:

    • Acclimatize to the altitude before you start your trek. This means spending a few days at a lower altitude before you ascend to the higher altitudes of the pilgrimage route.
    • Wear proper clothing and footwear. This includes warm clothing, sunscreen, and sturdy shoes or boots.
    • Drink plenty of fluids. This is especially important at high altitudes, where the air is dry and the temperature can be cold.
    • Eat a balanced diet. This will help to keep your energy levels up and prevent you from getting sick.
    • Listen to your body. If you start to feel unwell, stop and rest. Do not push yourself too hard.

By following these tips, you can help to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable Amarnath pilgrimage.
