Q32: What are the facilities available at Panchtarni?

A: At Panchtarni, basic tent and hut facilities are available. There are only 5 to 6 huts, each with 8 beds, providing a total of 40 beds. Most pilgrims prefer to stay in tents due to the unique experience. We also offer one-night tent stays at Panchtarni in our helicopter and trekking packages from Neelgrath and Pahalgam.

Q33: What type of meals are provided during the Amarnath trip?

A: We generally provide a buffet menu at hotels, and during the tent stay, meals are provided by the Langars. We follow the Shrine Board’s guidelines for Langar meals, which include breakfast and dinner in our packages. Lunch is not provided, as pilgrims are usually engaged in Darshan or sightseeing during the day. Lunch can be added at an additional cost if needed.

Q34: How many people will share a tent during the stay?

A: Due to a shortage of space, single, double, or triple sharing tents are not available. The tent facilities are available for a minimum of 6 people sharing, with up to 12 people in some cases. If you have a group with these numbers, booking will be straightforward. For individual bookings, the availability of smaller sharing tents depends on arrival time. We provide a cot, mattress, blanket, and pillow for each pilgrim, and we try to keep family members together, with males and females separated.

Q37: What type of vehicles do you provide for sightseeing and Darshan?

A: The vehicle type depends on the number of people in the group. For private tours, we provide a dedicated vehicle for your group. For group tours, we use buses or tempo travellers, which are shared with other pilgrims. Private tours are more expensive compared to public group packages.

Q38: What is the pickup time from the Airport/Railway Station/Bus Stand?

Q39: How much do you charge for VIP Darshan of the Amarnath Pilgrimage?

A: There is no VIP Darshan facility for Amarnath Pilgrimage as is available at Kedarnath and Badrinath. If a VIP facility is introduced in the future, we will charge Rs. 1,100 per pilgrim.

Q40: Can you arrange special Darshan for the Amarnath Pilgrimage?

A: There is no special darshan due to the heavy rush and limited duration of the pilgrimage. However, if we manage to arrange it, the charge will be Rs. 1,100 per person. This must be booked in advance, and if not arranged, the amount will be refunded.

Q41: How many person trips can we book at a time for Amarnath Darshan?

A: For helicopter bookings, a maximum of 100 people can be booked at a time, and for trekking, up to 500 people can be booked for a particular date.

Q42: Which date should we finalize for our Amarnath tour?

A: You should finalize a date based on the official dates announced by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. If you wish to go during Sawan, Full Moon, or on Mondays, you can select those dates based on your availability. We are flexible with the dates.

BSNL postpaid is the best option for connectivity. Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone have coverage up to Panchtarni and during the trek. BSNL is the most reliable network in case of an emergency.

Ans: There is no direct train to Srinagar. The nearest railway station to Srinagar is Nowgaon. If you plan to come from Delhi by train, you can travel to Jammu, and from there, you can either take a flight or a taxi to reach Srinagar. It is not advisable to travel by train to Nowgaon since Srinagar is not yet connected by train.

Ans: Baltal is well-connected by road and located beside National Highway No. 1D.
To reach Baltal from Jammu:

  • Option (a): Hire a taxi from Jammu to Baltal (approximately 400 km, 12-15 hours). You can break your journey at Patnitop, Srinagar, or Sonmarg.
  • Option (b): Alternatively, take a flight from Jammu to Srinagar, and from Srinagar, hire a taxi to reach Baltal (approximately 100 km, 2-3 hours).

Ans: Pahalgam is also well-connected by road and is located at the bank of the Lidder River.
To reach Pahalgam from Jammu:

  • Option (b): Alternatively, take a flight from Jammu to Srinagar, and from there, hire a taxi to reach Pahalgam (approximately 100 km, 2-3 hours).

  • The trek usually takes 2-3 days to complete on foot and 2 days by pony/palki. Returning pilgrims often complete the journey in 1 day, provided the weather is clear and the route is open.
